Cold water, warm water, steam, light shifting colour as you walk through. The emotional shower is the moment when the body stops resisting something it did not know it was resisting. Each temperature change brings a different sensation, as if every passage dissolved a layer of accumulated tension, the kind you cannot see but you feel, in the shoulders, the back of the neck, in the way you breathe when you are in a hurry. The multisensory tunnel combines stimuli that are not normally found together: light that accompanies the heat, a sudden cold that wakes the skin, steam that envelops. The body responds without asking permission from the mind, and that is precisely the point. By the time you reach this stage of the journey, the world is already a very, very distant background noise.
